The more I see of Olmert, the more I know Israel needs B. Netanyahu. I should know this, but when are the next elections in Israel?

This could be a blessing in disguise. There is a strong possibility that the foundations under the Temple Mount will not be strong enough to support such a large additional structure.
The area is also prone to minor earthquakes. I would not be surprised if the whole thing came crashing down.

Why should the muzzies ever negotiate in good faith with Israel? They have figured that if they screm loud enough to the multitude of Western TV cameras hanging on their every word, Israel will cave in with no concession on their part. Israel needs to decide if it wants to survive or whether it just wants to avoid being criticised.

The Rabbinical Congress for Peace, a coalition of more than 300 Israeli rabbinic leaders and pulpit rabbis, said in a statement today Olmert "does not have the moral or historic right to hand over even one inch of Israeli territory to foreigners." A top leader of the Waqf told WND Olmert's granting of permission to build the minaret in the synagogue's place "confirms 100-percent the Haram al-Sharif (Temple Mount) belongs to Muslims."
In all fairness, Olmert did not originate the stupidity of allowing the existence of the waqf 60 years ago. it should have been evident then that it was a stupid thing to do, "assume" that the muslims themselves would ever make a distinction between administrative control and national sovereignty. History bears out, repeatedly, the stupidity of that move.
Why Israel allows any additions or major modifications to any muslim structures on the mount is beyond my comprehension.
Let's deal once more with this, too:
Islamic tradition states Muhammad took a journey in a single night from "a sacred mosque" believed to be in Mecca in southern Saudi Arabia to "the farthest mosque," and from a rock there ascended to heaven. The farthest mosque later became associated with Jerusalem.
Even in an article ostensibly sympathetic to the Jews, clarity is evaded for political reasons. muhammed made that magic trip long before he died, in a freaking dream!
And only muslim cultural retardation would accept that, even in a dream, he could ascend to heaven from a mosque that wouldn't exist until 80 years after his death!
