February 16, 2007 -- Republican 2008 hopeful Rudy Giuliani - under fire from some conservatives for his liberal social views - will be a featured speaker at a school founded by the Rev. Pat Robertson, officials said yesterday.
The appearance in April comes at a time when Giuliani is trying to build bridges to conservatives who dominate GOP primaries and who are wary of his pro-choice, pro-gay-rights stands.
The former mayor, who tops most GOP primary polls along with Arizona Sen. John McCain, will speak at Regent University's executive-leadership series on April 17, school officials said.

"That's still a long way from him getting [their] support, but it's an opportunity that would have been tough to predict just a few months ago."

[GEORGE] WILL: Is your support of partial birth abortion firm?
Mayor GIULIANI: All of my positions are firm. I have strong viewpoints. I express them. And I--I do not think that it makes sense to be changing your position....
ABC News February 6, 2000
TUCHMAN: Giuliani was then asked whether he supports a ban on what critics call partial-birth abortions, something Bush strongly supports.
GIULIANI: No, I have not supported that, and I don't see my position on that changing.
- CNN December 2, 1999
MR. RUSSERT: A banning of late-term abortions, so-called partial-birth abortions--you're against that?
MAYOR GIULIANI: I'm against it in New York, because in New York...
MR. RUSSERT: Well, if you were a senator, would you vote with the president or against the president? [Note: President Clinton was in office in 2000]
MAYOR GIULIANI: I would vote to preserve the option for women. I think that choice is a very difficult one. It's a very, very--it's one in which people of conscious have very, very different opinions. I think the better thing for America to do is to leave that choice to the woman, because it affects her probably more than anyone else....
MR. RUSSERT: So you won't change your view on late-term abortion in order to get the Conservative Party endorsement?
MAYOR GIULIANI: It isn't just that. We shouldn't limit this to one issue. I'm generally not going to change my views

Judy in disguise, well that's what you are
Lemonade pie with a brand new car
Cantaloupe eyes come to me tonight
Judy in disguise with glasses
Keep a-wearing your bracelets and your new rara
Cross your heart - yeh - with your living bra
Chimney sweep sparrow with guise
Judy in disguise with glasses
Come to me tonight, come to me tonight
Taking everything in sight
Except for the strings on my kite
Judy in disguise, hey that's what you are
Lemonade pies hey got your brand new car
Cantaloupe eyes come to me tonight
Judy in disguise with glasses
Come to me tonight, come to me tonight
Taking everything in sight
Except for the strings on my kite
Judy in disguise, well what you aiming for
A circus of horrors, yeah, well that's what you are
You made me a life of ashes
I guess I'll just take your glasses
Rudy in disguise, well that's what you are
Lemonade pies with a brand new car
Cantalope eyes come to me tonight
Rudy in disguise, with glasses
Keep a-wearing your bracelets and your new rara
Cross your heart with your living bra
Chimney sweep sparrow with guise
Rudy in disguise, with glasses
(Oh, Uh oh, Uhhh)
Judy in disguise, what you aiming for
A circus of a-horrors, yea yea, well that's what you are
You made me a life of ashes
I guess I'll just take your glasses
Ditto. Pat would be another sellout. For some reason that happens to many ex-Democrats. Jesus had Judas ....
Agreed, I will be canceling my monthly donation to the 700 Club today.
And it's a shame, for they really do great charity work.
I am against partial-birth abortion.
However, if Rudy Giuliani is nominated I will vote for him over Hillary Clinton or Hussein Obama. So will you.
I haen't checked recently, but I am not at all sure that Rudy wants Spiff's vote.
Ditto that. If there are only two logical possibilities, pick the best one.
Nonsense. Rudy is a politician. He wants to win. He wants every vote he can get. And when Spiff realizes that Spiff's only choice is between "not good enough" and "just plain awful," Spiff will vote against "just plain awful" by voting for "not good enough" . . . if Spiff has an ounce of common sense.
I'll vote third party first.
No I won't.
Well he hasn't endorsed Rudy or anyting, still there is this from the article:
In the past, Robertson has offered praise for Giuliani, telling ABC in 2005 that while the ex-mayor doesn't "share all my particular points of view on social issues," he's "a very good friend of mine, and did a super job running the city of New York. I think he'd make a good president."
Disclaimer-I'm not supporting any candidate at this time.
Vote for a third party candidate or stay home and you will be effectively voting for Hillary Clinton or B. Hussein Obama. There is no common sense in doing that, unless that is who you would rather have as your president.
You don't always get the government you vote for, but vote for a third party candidate or stay home and you will get the government you deserve.
Rino Rudy is so liberal he makes me lose my fear of democrats. Scare tactics do not work any more.
regardless if i vote for third party or one of main two..i don't always get the government i voted for and stuck with whatever government that's in charge, deserved or not.
Throwing one's principles out the window, in order to try to stop someone from getting elected, is pathetic and not my idea of freedom.
