We live in FL so its not easy for a 24 yr. old computer oriented wiz kid to find something suitable.

The ideal job in Florida for a boy like that: be a gigolo who fixes computers for old ladies. He'll never lack for work in "God's waiting room."

Ok, now I understand your meaning, but I certainly don't need the lecture.

I've NEVER shut up and that's why the relationships didn't work, because Mom and the kids knew exactly what I thought.
Yes I was diplomatic, but that wasn't the issue.

Having similar values is key in any relationship, but when kids are involved you better both be on the same exact page!
Of course if the joint custody Father is refereeing from a distance, forget it!

As noted in my first post, I could right the book, having been single all my life. (No live-ins either)
Knowing where NOT to comprimise is a key factor in my status. (3 engagements that ultimately revealed deal breaking issuse)

What's interesting about this topic is how many people seem to think narcissism is limited to those who are single. Back when I was single I had more than one married man hit on me. Of course, I told them where to shove it but it was evidence to me that being married does not necessarily mean a person has any morals or values whatsoever. Funny thing is one of the men actually practiced psychiatry for a living - imagine how many folks he messed up. I should have called his wife to tell her what her dear old husband was up to. Sad. Thank GOD, I found a man with morals who respects his family. I can't imagine being married to a loser like that guy. His poor wife and children.

The part you debunkes is the ONE part I would as well. 'Course, a lot of men are taking the advice of the article and just not getting married because if they do, thy need to take the warnings VERY seriously.

Also, keep in mind that marriage statistics are kinda like foreclosure statistics. That is, for people that are 20 years into a 30 year mortgage, the forclosure rate is very low. For those who bought a home on an ARM or reverse amortization loan in the last three years, it is stupit high.

IOW, the warning is for those who have not yet taken the plunge, and it is to be taken VERY seriously.

Indeed. All too many of those little girls who didn't have a healthy relationship with a healthy dad seek to deprive others;

Misery certainly loveth company....

I should be outraged that passes for marriage these days, but unfortunately I just find it sad. Being in a good marriage facing hard times (my wife is facing cancer), I realize just how shallow a relationship built on a prenup really is. We've gone this far with a simple oral agreement we made 16 years ago to share everything and not leave each other.
