I've heard it way too many times today.
Maybe if a person is black, they think differently.
But as a middle-aged white guy, I keep thinking that both Dungy and Smith are good coaches - but they're hardly groundbreakers like Jackie Robinson.
They're both modest and decent men. My guess is they'll get sick of the constant blather about their color. It's not 1962, after all.
As a black person, I'm certainly proud of the fact that two Black coaches are going to the Super Bowl. Now, I realize the Super Bowl isn't as important as, say, becoming the first Black governor or the first Black president, but it's something. I'll be watching the Super Bowl this year.
I don't know much about Smith, but Dungy has been to a Superbowl before............he played in it..........
