I think we know why Brady's been a bit different lately.

And to be honest, in that position, I'd probably say f*** the Super Bowl too. ;)

That was all on Mike Ditka who says that's one his career's biggest regrets. I don't know what it has to do with this current Bears team though.

What does coaches being carried by their players have to do with post game hugs of the oppostion?

The Bears almost beat the Pats in New England when Grossman had a terrible game.

I am curious...why is it so important to say a team choked? I simply thought they lost to a team that was at least as good as they were, and just played better and to their fullest potential on a given night.

Does it somehow make it more rewarding to think that the Patriots choked? I ask because as a fan (or as a player) I take a lot more satisfaction from my team winning because they played better, rather than attributing it to another team playing poorly.

Nothing personal, but the way you characterize people doesn't reflect well on you. It makes you sound judgemental and narrow. I'm not saying you are, because I really don't know anything about you but the words you have posted on this forum. Of all the people from New England you could possibly know, you somehow know all these people that are nothing like anyone I know from around here, and they all buttress your opinion of what New Englanders are like, and it isn't favorable.

" It's stupid, the whole midfield idiocy should end, unless there's an award to hand out everybody should get the hell off the field. Why is there a crowd obssesed with this metrosexual display of post game man love?! "

I'm sorry. It may be that "choked" is too harsh of a word for you to listen to, I can understand that. How about... the Patriots bowed under pressure...? Okay? They had a lead that, in the past, Patriot teams would not have relinquished.

You and the people you run with may be the exceptions to the rule or my associate here and the rest of his family and friends (brother, brother-in-law, wife, and a few other relatives, not to mention, the hundred or so Patriot fans that take over a local sports pub here on Sundays - We have various sports bars that cater to various fan groups on Sundays) may be the exceptions to the rule. The people that I cite are extremely obnoxious about everything Boston and can't understand why nobody else gets excited about "the greatest sports teams in history". Not that they would care what anybody thinks but that just doesn't reflect well on you and your fellow New Englanders.

I can only base my opinion on what I see first hand and what I read on these forums and quite frankly, I've got to tell you, from past posts I have read, you are the exception here, and in my little area of the world down here in NC, to put it nicely, New England is not very well represented.

Of course you have to keep in mind that carting the coach around on the players' shoulders wasn't an every win occurance like the Gatoraide shower is today, it was something that happened in the big games, the championship games, the games where there's an award that will be handed out, which was my explicitly called out exception. No reason to hustle off the field when there's an award to be handed out, they're just going to want you back on the field to get the award.

Well, I can certainly say that when I was in the military, Yankees were not often well received in certain parts of the south that I went to...but once people get to know you everyone gets along...:)

"...Yankees were not often well received in certain parts of the south that I went to..."

Only the ones that want to impose their way. ;-)

But, I'm pretty certain that's more of a universal problem. For instance, just as I know that people in the upper northwest get tired of hearing how things should be done by migrating Californians.

Hell, we get people from the western part of the state telling us how their BBQ sauce is sooo much better... My response to them is the same: "Save it for somebody that gives a damn." ;-)

Cheers!

LOL...I found that to some guys from the South, there were some places the Civil War was not over.

Actually, most of the joshing ribbing and verbal abuse was mostly for show...and I kind of enjoyed it.

Of course, I would always tell them that even though I live in Massachusetts, I was born in Virginia. That always bought me enough room to get to know my tormenter...:)
