Kucinich to push for Media Reform
Washington Times ^ | unknown

U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich said he would push for media reform as chairman of a new House subcommittee focusing on Federal Communications Commission issues.

Kucinich, D-Ohio, and a presidential candidate, said the new Domestic Policy Subcommittee of the House Government Reform Committee would focus on issues such as net neutrality and major telecommunications mergers, Radio Industry News said. Kucinich outlined the subcommittee and its responsibilities during a recent media reform conference in Memphis.

The panel also would consider Fairness Doctrine, eliminated in 1987, which had required broadcasters to present controversial topics in a fair and honest manner.

"We know the media has become the servant of a very narrow corporate agenda" Kucinich said during the Tennessee conference. "We are now in a position to move a progressive agenda to where it is visible."

The Times glosses over the fact that the attendees and speakers of this 3 day 'media-reform conference' in Memphis are all A-listed, manifest socialists and communists. Kucinich must have felt right at home in the Deep South, if only for one night.

Complete with audio links. This is a real banquet.

Just take one good look at the speakers at this non-partisan conference....Donahue, Moyers, Jackson, Fonda, Goodman, Bernie Sanders, Brock, Reickhoff, Helen Thomas, ect.

Enjoy.

Kucinich is angry because he made a fool of himself on Hugh Hewitt's show about a week ago.

A "progressive agenda"...Don't they have NPR and other FUNDED ways to "move that forward"? They can't stand the fact Ruch Limbaugh and others have such an enormous following. Kucinich and his plans are frightening. After McCain-Feingold, we know such infringements of the 1st amendment are possible.

Sounds like a target-rich environment. There was a (better) time in this country when a gang like this would have been called what it is: a danger to America and to freedom.

When you can't win the debate, kill the opposition. Certainly a proposal that Stalin would have approved. No wonder that the Left never produces anything of value, and no wonder why the Left feels such a kinship with the Islamists.

I heard that. Hewitt did a terrific job of just letting this communist idiot suffocate himself in his own bile.

He could not give Hewitt a straight answer on anything.

Hewitt ended it by saying, "Thank you, Congressman Kucinich. I hope we have you on again....ALOT!"

LMAO!

It's going to be amusing to see this neo-Stalinist goof drag CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, NBC, and NPR before Congress and accuse them of being minions of the "military-industrial complex."

Kucinich's district must be primarily made up of welfare clients and mental defectives, the kind of people you see on Jerry Springer.

It's not going to be fun over the next two years...... Though Barney Franks antics will definitely have an air about them!

Kucinich is convinced that the press is a right-wing propaganda machine and he can't be talked out of it. There's never gonna be enough evidence to persuade him otherwise, so let's see just how far he's willing to go with this. He's on the absolute fringe of the spectrum and the public knows it.

The 'Fairness Doctrine' is a pipe dream. Take any public poll of how most people preceive the press and their politics and you'll see that the perception of a left-wing bias is overwhelming in most people's eyes. These kinds of polls would be far more frequent, I assure you, if Kucinich was sincere in that belief. The press wisely does not put itself under their own microscope of scrutiny for good reason.

The entire argument behind it, like Kucinich himself, is a fraud.

The Rats are pushing for media reform? Yeah, right. More like silencing the Republicans.

The self-named party of free speech sure is scared of OUR free speech rights.
