Not exactly. A president is head of state. The Queen in the head of the British state. The PM is what the name implies. The prime minister of Parliament.

The Prime Minister is not their equivalent of the President. The President is more of a cross between a symbolic monarch (he's the Chief of State), and an ordinary executive/dictator/leader. A Prime Minister is merely the head honcho of the majority political group in Parliament.
