What not just sell it cheap? Give the world a chance to see if French wine is any good.Based on the French wine I've tasted over the past few years...it isn't. I doubt Wal Mart could get away with selling it as a bargain.

At least the foreign wines are not riddled with sulfites like the California wines...ugh...gives me migraines...
I am very into the Breede Valley, South African wines right now....verrrrry nice!

I've read that 2005 and 2006 were wonderful growing seasons and have produced such a bounty that prices have plummeted. In Europe I have also read there is so much supply that prices for excellent French wines have collapsed.
Unfortunately the prices are still holding up in the US.
By the way I had 2006 Beaujolais Nouveau on Thanksgiving and thought it was just fine.
