Does Bush or anyone there realize that they just gave the populace justification for electing the Dems?

Why blame Bush? The President put the decision in Rumsfeld's corner. Always has said that. I think Rumsfeld has had enough of the DC climate. After last night, I don't blame him.

Agree. The more I talk with coworker this morning the more I think he should have already left. There seems to be a real fear among alot of people we are headed toward another Vietnam.

I'd prefer Jack Bauer, myself. And I don't even think Hillary or Plugs Biden would have the guts to filibuster Jack Bauer's nomination. :)

If this is true, thank you very much, Secretary Rumsfeld, for your long service to the country.

As much as I like Rummy and I think he should stay, just think of what this is going to do to the dems victory last night.

THIS IS GOING TO SUCK THE ATTENTION AWAY FORM THEM WINNING THE HOUSE/SENATE.

I won't jump on you, but I can't imagine President Bush becoming one of the cut 'n runners.

JUST F'N DAMN. Why now?

Before the election, it looked like the GOP could hold the Senate, and Rummy could wait until next year. Now, he has to resign right away so Bush can get his replacement through a majority-Republican Senate in the lame-duck session.

Why, so that the Dems could send Lamont to the Senate? Who is a conservative, pro-defense Dem in a good red state who could have a good Republican appointed to replace him?

I don't think Bush did it. I think Rummy's fed up.

I tend to agree.

Amen. And Bush's stubbornness caused this loss.
