He was saying that not everything was about Iraq. He was answering a question about quitting Iraq. I think Clinton did run a good race in New York, and Rendell ran a good race in Pennsylvania. He also said Casey ran a "good race", but said it was the turnout machine there that worked.
Stil, any thing he says that points it back to him takes it away from the democrats. And he's not bargaining on anything the democrats want. He is saying he'll listen to ideas, but won't adjust his positions now in the press conference.
Look, we are all upset and nothing Bush says will matter. He is trying to define his agenda, some of which we won't like and now will pass, like immigration, but he is trying to grab the agenda.
"but he is trying to grab the agenda."
Sometimes, even freepers cannot see clearly through the haze..
I agree with you, and it's what we SHOULD have been doing FOR YEARS...
Instead WE, (the base) let Milquetoast Republicans cowtow to even more incompetent Democrats...
Imagine the carnage if we'd gone up against a COMPETENT Democratic Party? The Wake up bell is ringing, is anybody listening?
