Sorry to be a downer, but I believe that a 10 year nightmare is just beginning - we are on the edge of one of this nation's darkest times - by the time Hillary gets through with this country, it will be morally bankrupt, deeply socialist/communist, steeped in the blood of more aborted babies by doctors in search of stem cells under the guise of "medicine".

Get ready to hand over your wallets and hold your tounges because the crap is really going to hit the fan now.

the ONLY way to pass amnesty was to have a Dem. congress.

The guest worker program is not amnesty. /lie-like-clinton-mode

Lame duck? I was thinking of a phrase with the same first letters, but the first word was "limp".

Its time to grow up and start acting like real men. Do whats right, and dont listen to the whiners.

I just had to explain how pulling out of Iraq will affect us to my high school daughter. The terrorists will change that country into an islamic state, and then they will go after Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Israel. They they will go after Europe. And then its our turn.

We will have to act like people with a spine sometime. Its just going to cost us more now.

For all you people that kept on saying on FR that Bush's low popularity didn't because Bush wasn't on the ballot were dead wrong. Bush's unpopularity was a major factor in losses.

If I see another "Rove, You magnificent bastard" post, I'm going to throw up.

THAT is why he got elected in 2000 because he worked with Democrats as Governor or Texas. The Republicans got too high and mighty and lost because of arrogance and over confidence. We need to stop the "We are better than you" attitude and get down to working on 2008 and the issues that got us a two term president.

I can't believe the defeatist attitude from conservatives/Republicans on FreeRepublic...yes, we got our noses bloodied; but we can turn this around and we've got 2 years to do it...frankly, I'm glad to have the spotlight on the democrats because they are now going to have to deliver on their message of "change"...which of course, they can't. Think about it for just a minute; the democrats are in control, now the MSMedia are going to have to change course and appear like hypocrites in backing the democrats....it's a good thing folks, grab the popcorn and enjoy!

Your views and mine are exactly the same.

The Bush's did not make bad Presidents, but they allowed themselves to be ridiculed and this is what both of them got for it. Sometimes you have to defend yourself.

"Rick Santorum remained close to his principles and he's such a nice guy."

****

Unfortunately, I don't think Pennsylvanians believed he was such a nice guy. I'm thinking what really defeated him was the flap over the Penn Hills School District taxpayers having to pay for his kids' charter school education. A local issue did him in -- not Iraq, the economy, his principles and what not. People here perceived him as being out of touch with them, and in the case of the school district paying for his kids' education, they thought he was dishonest, to say the least.

I think the vote for Casey was not so much that people loved Casey -- they don't -- they just wanted to boot Santorum out.

I think he found out the hard way that Washington, DC is not Austin. The Dems play for keeps in DC.

We lost because a third of House Republicans are either under indictment or sending love emails to pages.
