It goes like this: Good people sleep peacefully in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf. At least I think that's it. God bless our troops!

"There has never been an American army as violent and murderous as the one in Iraq." Webster's definition of murder is the unlawful killing of another human being. Does Seymore think killing our country's enemies is unlawful? As a country keeps an army for the sole purpose of closing with its enemies and destroying them, the killing of these enemies is not against our laws and should not be refered to as murder. A journalist should at least know the definition of the words he uses, so what was the point he was trying to make here?
If Seymore had said, "There has never been an American army as violent and deadly as the one in Iraq," he would have been more accurately describing our army, and would have been paying them a compliment. But with the statement he made, he simply showed the world his own ignorance.

He said: "There has never been an American army as violent and murderous as the one in Iraq." It is about time we are using the Army for what was intended to be, before the PC crowd; namely kill enemy, destroy things and win wars just like any other reputable Army's in the past History.

"Obviously, murderous is one of those charged words used to stifle criticism. Killing terrorists - and by that I mean armed thugs with true murderous intent - is what the military is supposed to do!"
I think he's intentionally misusing the word. Killing in war is not "murder.
To: The Worthless Miracle
Another moron who thinks we can fight a war without killing anyone.
The art of war is all about killing them while not getting killed yourself.
All death is not murder and we are allowed to win every now and then.
I'm a combat vet and you act and react as you are trained to do. Sometimes the wrong people are in the way. That's just the way it is.
It seems like you want to get troops killed before they are allowed to shoot back. The Democrats who are counting the bodies would have a political orgasm with that body count.

You know, if he had any proof like he claims he would show it to help the Dims in the election. He's full of $hit.

According to Seymour Hersh, we were supposed to be bombing Iran by now. So, Seymour, could it be that you either have no idea what you are talking about, or you are relying on sources that are lying to you. Perhaps that explains this inexplicably stupid comment on your part, as actually, this American Army is the most restrained, most circumspect, and most concerned with both appearances and actual human rights issues than any other Army before, anywhere or anytime. Maybe that explains just why you say things that are so patently wrong and simply stupid.
To: Nachum
"He said: "There has never been an American army as violent and murderous as the one in Iraq.""Ummmm. I thought that was the purpose of the military. These people are always trying to sanitize warfare. If the libs ran the military, they'd do away with smart bombs and come up with "Nice Bombs."

Look what I found in the dictionary:
ween·ie (wn)
n.1. Informal A wiener.
2. Slang A person, especially a man, who is regarded as being weak and ineffectual.

I'd like Mr. Hersh to know that this American civilian will become bloodthirsty and violent if I hear of our troops being spat upon once again due in part to his bulls**t enemy propaganda.
Watching, and waiting.
