Jack Murtha refuses. His official response was, 'My record's out there for everyone to see … I've done it the same way all the time.'

This alone is enough to run with. Murtha says no matter what he's done, he'll do it again... logically, that means he'll solicit bribes (Abscam) and slander our soldiers (Haditha) again if given the opportunity.

Apropos to nothing, I do have to thank Murtha for providing me with one of the funniest things I did when I was in College. This was about 1980, when ABSCAM was in the news or just after. I was in the theather Dept. There was this girl named Mandy, and everyday, she'd ask everyone if they wanted anything from the soda machine. Anyone around then knows TAB. TAB, the sugar-free Coke drink you can rarely find anymore. ANYWAY, everyday, Mandy would make our TAB run for us...usually, we'd give her a dollar, the drinks were 60 cents. After months of this, I realized I never got change back! I asked all our friends about their experiences with Mandy and her "TAB" runs, and they also told me they never received their change. I declared it TABSCAM, and made quite a todo about it! We had an investigation, and she blushingly admitted she pocketed the change. I should have been a lawyer!
