I work with a guy and he is a total idiot. I even reported him to my big boss about what he said about President George W. Bush. It astounded me that he is still working where we work. To scare him, I told him on a Monday that I was surprised to see him at work after the comments that he made.

During my 20 years of military service one of the more boring briefings that I had to sit through annually was Protection of the President. This was a annual ground training event that everyone had to go through. Today, I am not sure if it was a DOD directive or a Federal Law that generated this annual training event.
But, if I had to put money on the table I would bet it is a Federal Law.
Bottom line, it is against the law, IMHO, to threaten the life of the President. All such threats are to be reported immediately and investigated. It is the option of the investigating authority as to how to conduct the investigation. In todays environment and the national and international exposure that internet sites get I am not surprised.
