Months earlier, however, Scheuer believes there was a far better opportunity to grab Bin Laden. The CIA had made a deal with a group of Afghan tribesmen to raid Bin Laden's headquarters near Kandahar and then take him to a desert landing strip, where a US plane would take him either to America or another country for trial. The plan, rehearsed several times over many months, was in Scheuer's view "almost a perfect operation in the sense that there was no US hand visible". But on May 29 1998, according to the narrative in the September 11 Commission's report, Scheuer was informed that the operation had been cancelled because of the risk of civilian casualties.

The pattern was repeated on December 20 the same year, when Scheuer's agents were virtually certain that Bin Laden would be staying the night at a guest house in the Kandahar governor's compound. President Clinton's principal national security advisers once more decided that the danger of collateral damage was too high. Afterwards Scheuer wrote to the top CIA agent in the region, Gary Schroen, saying that he had been unable to sleep after this decision. "I'm sure we'll regret not acting last night," he predicted. Yet another opportunity, in Afghanistan, was missed in 1999.

   THOSE DIFFERENCES WILL PROVIDE NEW INSIGHTS INTO THE CLINTONS' CRIMES, SEDITIONS, SELF-SERVING ACTS AND STUPIDITIES.
   USING THIS NEWLY GLEANED INFO, DIG DEEPER.
   
   
3. Broadcast and exploit NONSTOP this new information along with the clintons known terrorism failures and other failures, crimes, seditions, self-serving acts and stupidities.
   THIS NEW INFORMATION WILL BE ESPECIALLY USEFUL IF THE CLINTONS TRY TO RETAKE THE WHITE HOUSE IN '08.

This legacy confab is in and of itself proof certain of clinton's deeply flawed character, and a demonstration in real time of the way in which the clinton years were about a legacy that was incidentally a presidency.

Madeleine Albright captured the essence of this dysfunctional presidency best when she explained why clinton couldn't go after bin Laden.

According to Richard Miniter, the Albright revelation occurred at the cabinet meeting that would decide the disposition of the USS Cole bombing by al Qaeda [that is to say, that would decide to do what it had always done when a "bimbo" was not spilling the beans on the clintons: Nothing]. Only Clarke wanted to retaliate militarily for this unambiguous act of war.

Albright explained that a [sham] Mideast accord would yield [if not peace for the principals, surely] a Nobel Peace Prize for clinton. Kill or capture bin Laden and clinton could kiss the 'accord' and the Peace Prize good-bye.

If clinton liberalism, smallness, cowardice, corruption, perfidy--and, to borrow a phrase from Andrew Cuomo, clinton cluelessness--played a part, it was, in the end, the Nobel Peace Prize that produced the puerile pertinacity that enabled the clintons to shrug off terrorism's global danger.

It is reported that the slimey scum accomplice Ben Veniste, obfuscator professionale, was operative in organizing the effort to suppress the truth of the ABC tv movie.

I trust that a deluge of public outcry has been launched by conservative masses in response to the influence of Clinton's closet ton-ton marcoute.

No doubt the creators of the film are trying to defend its integrity.

I trust further that the corporate hatchet men at Disney are dismayed by the dilema they are in and clueless as to how or why they should respond.

One way or another I anticipate another victory for the "bloggers"....
