In this picture released by Israeli Defence Forces press office, Israeli soldiers place an Israeli flag at a 'Sahlav' military post in Lebanon August 5, 2006. The United States and France agreed on Saturday on a Security Council resolution calling for fighting between Israel and Hizbollah to end, but on the ground both sides traded fire and a Hizbollah rocket killed three.
NSW Jewish Board of Deputies CEO Vic Alhadeff today said witnesses to the brutal attack in Bondi had told him the 36-year-old victim was an Israeli national." (LGF)
A sortie is one round trip by one airplane
I was just reading the Jerusalem Post about the thousands of IDF Reservists now in action. It said they may be 15 kilos heavier than they used to be and have less hair on top, but the older brothers have finally arrived and the Hezzies are fast gettin the crap knocked out of um. Bout time.
Speaking of 3 Bedouin women killed by a katyusha in Israel...
Hezbollah, targeting the innocent.
it sure is...the numbers I'm seeing put it at about a million bucks for each hezzie killed...thats no good..
Nite...take care
PC run amok...
Just lurking, I see at least 4 but no more than 30 here. G'night to you.
4600 targets? why does it seem like there'd be a lot more damage done it hezbollah with 4600 targets? for all those targets it doesn't really seem like theyve achieved that much. and if there's 4600 targets plus the thousands of artillery shells launched plus all the ground operations, shouldn't there be a heck of a lot more dead on the other side than 600 or so which is what the figure that's been released is?
something is not adding up here
Another weakness is that both as individuals and as a collective, they are described by Allah as "the people who guard their lives most." Their strong adherence to this world, with all its vanities and pleasures, constitutes a weakness.
In contrast, our people and our nation's willingness to sacrifice their blood, souls, children, fathers, and families for the sake of the nation's honor, life, and happiness has always been one of our nation's strengths."
These people are maniacal...
okay folks..have a conference call at 0800..better hit the sack. Nite all...
For an "honorable" "happy" nation made up completely of dead people, by suicide or homicide? Doesn't make sense.
Night, sofaman!
So the *real* Hezzie dead count is around 600? I've missed 3-4 days and last heard 900. Guess somebody went and counted.
Whose going to report the truth? Not the Messbos. No imbeds. Israel won't give the big picture of what's going on in the war zone. I prefer to think the Hessians are taking it in the shorts.
yitbos
it would seem that might be the case. i would think with close to 5000 targets struck, more than 50000 artillery shells launched, and with the ground operations, HB has taken a big hit.
however, they're still firing the rockets and still offering strong resistance in the south.
something doesn't add up.
The Middle Easterns call it "sperm of the gods." I kid you not. It's a dessert made from a soft dough, pistacios, honey and some other nut. They pack them in flour and sell them in tins. It's not like baklava, although a lot of the ingredients are the same.
I already make my own dolma all the time - love them. Do you have "cubba" or "kubba"? I'd like to try to make that. It sounds like "schawerma" is pretty much gyro meat, right? Do they have a yogurt sauce like tzaziki, too?
Yes, they have the Tangy yogurt sauce and we're glomming schawermas at this very moment. We eschewed the chow hall today and prevailed upon our local buyer to get us stuff from a local restaurant. It is the same as gyro meta - a beef and lamb mix and they're wonderful. We got hummous, yogurt sauce and relishes along with them. The chicken is shaved, but we don't have that today.
Yes, we have kupbeh (that's how they say it). It's ground meat baked into a patry and they're GREAT.
Khouzi is young goat meat and I've had it and it's very good.
Is that Tigris river fish itself similar to any fish we have here that you can think of? I mean, like catfish or trout or flounder?
It's more like catfish or carp. The way they cook it makes it so incredibly tender and flavorful. We're going to get some in a couple of days from one of the local restaurants.
The gist of Iraqi food is very similar to Lebanese food. And yes, they use green beans and tomatoes in a lot of their dishes.
Hope that helps with some of your questions. It's easy to answer this while pigging out on Iraqi food.
