Why is C-SPAN even broadcasting this nonsense?

I'm a Maryland conservative and for the longest time, it would take me a few moments to remember my second Senator. I would always get Butch but Sarbanes was hard because he would virtually disappear between elections. My congress critter is Steny Hoyer.

I also believe we helped the attacks on 9/11.

We elected Clinton who allowed Al Quada to attack us without any retaliation.

Clinton had the chance to have Bin Laden handed over by Somalia and didn't take him

Clinton had the chance to take him off the face of the earth 4 different times and didn't do it.

I would not even dare to ask :-)

Seriously though, I have no idea. I would have thought such views would be fringe views, but then again I thought such views were fringe views in the US as well.

Scratch that, I still think such views are marginal.

I don't trust this poll one bit.

Cheers.

Scary to know that some people feel this way.

Nobody has gone broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public.

Hmmm, who did they call for this poll? 1,010 people who live in Manhattan?

When I see a poll of only 1,010 respondents, I don't pay it any attention. 1,010 of 280,000,000 citizens doesn't reflect much in my opinion.

This can be interpreted in a few different ways.

Those who believe 9-11 happened because Bill Clinton didn't take Osama when he was offered to us, and those who believe Osama and his associates were emboldened by our performance in Lebanon and Somalia (I seem to recall a "paper tiger" quote from OBL) would therefore feel that the USA did have something of a hand in the events of 9-11.

There are of course the wackjobs who come up with all sorts of strange theories, whether they be anti-Semitic, anti-USA, or otherwise.

Sounds like that 1/3 of Americans who are leftist Bush haters.

Frightening, isn't it. I wonder if distrust of the old media has a lot to do with how easy it is to get a lot of Americans to swallow tin foil hat beliefs.

Well, I'm from the great state of NY. One of the red bits from mostly red Upstate. And I'm only too well aware of who my pols are :(

Hang in there! I am just as surrounded by liberal twits here in the Peoples Democratic State of Maryland as you are in the "Great White North," but somehow, we both have Conservative/Republican chief executives.

Considering who conducted the poll, and that they don't appear to have polled registered or likely voters, the article just mentions adults, I don't think the poll means much. If the percentage of non-voters is high in the people surveyed, I wouldn't expect them to know much. It skews the poll to my mind.

Would be interesting to know the exact questions and who they asked.

I know there are vicious weirdos out there but to say that one third of all Americans believe that is beyond belief.

I can't help but think of the comment Nancy Reagan made on TV two years ago when she said and I'm paraphrasing, Ronnie always said that 35% of the electorate were hard corp Reagan haters.

That's not the verbatim quote but the gist of what she said.
