Unfortunately, there are too many of us who need those same phones to keep inouch with our children, as I do with my son. This is crap. Parents managed to get those critical messages to their kids in schools long before cellphones came along.

That said, there was a time when school cared about thier students, and critical and even less critical messages got passed betweeen students and parents as needed. That time is long past.
