To split hairs: I think Nixon nominated Renquist for Justice. Reagan nominated him for Chief Justice.

Also, I think BOTH Roberts and Alito were stellar appointments. We dodged a bullet with Meirs, though.

Reagan did nominate Reinquist for CJ. A good conservative choice. Filled that seat with another good conservative, Antonin Scalia.

Way way too early to offer a judgment on Bush`s picks of Alito or Roberts. History tells us so. Don't jump the shark. ;^)
