Yet Reagan gave us Kennedy and O'Connor and Bush I Souter.

You never know.

And even if you did, the daily issues that confront the President are a more important voting consideration then a maybe opportunity to pick a Justice that is a crap shoot in any event. And where the Senate has the final say.

I don't want to repeat myself in every thread but I believe with his background Giuliani will pick Roberts and Alito clones.

And I doubt he will. If I had my 'druthers, I'd go with someone I knew was going to appoint conservative judges. But I agree, it can be a crapshoot.

By the way, the daily issues that confront a President are equally important as to whom that President will nominate for court appointments- and not just the Supreme Court. To say otherwise is to miss the big picture. These appoints and the decisions made by these judges affect us all for decades.
