This is a pristine example of why the pressure needs to be kept on the Muslim community, whether it is valid and pointed criticism in cultural arenas, or the attention of the law enforcement community. There has been no evidence to this point that they will aggressively, or credibly, police themselves.

A lawyer defending al Qaida-linked suspects standing trial for the 2003 suicide bombings in Istanbul told a court that jihad, or holy war, was an obligation for Muslims and his clients should not be prosecuted.

"If you punish them for this, tomorrow, will you punish them for fasting or for praying?" Osman Karahan -- a lawyer representing 14 of the 72 suspects -- asked during a nearly four-hour speech in which he read religious texts from an encyclopedia of Islam.

The November 2003 blasts targeted two synagogues, the British Consulate and the local headquarters of the London-based HSBC bank, killing 58 people...

I submit that everyone should get a copy of a Koran and read it. A friend gave me a copy that was obtained in Saudi Arabia, and not intended to be sold or distributed in USA... written and read from right to left with Arabic verse and English translation verbatim.

I was shocked to read verses that explain not only that the Jews and Christians have to be killed in many verses, but it goes on to explain how and when killings should take place... a true recipe book for murder. Not a peaceful book at all.

I will scan some pages of the book and post.

Why can't the Koran be treated as any other printed matter that outlines how to kill and terrorize?
If your neighbor had a book with such language in it, and he admitted he considered every word in the book holy, would you think that neighbor harmless?
A secular book giving detailed instructions on how to bomb and kill people would certainly make such a person someone you would be wary of-yes?
Why can't the Koran be considered dangerous/illegal material because of what it contains just like child porn material is?
People are arrested for having that heinous stuff, why not printed matter that calls for the DEATH of people?

Your next door neighbor goes to cult meetings , and admits to believing in a book that says you should submit or die-
how many would be ok with that? Invite him over for coffee, consider him a pal?
Why is a neighbor, or a shopkeeper, or anyone else who belongs to the cult of Islam any different?
