Excellent point. I guess the show's main point was that Iran was the first to call "uncle".

Insurgent means 'rebel', look it up. How would the Iranians not elect Amadenijad? By voting for Rafsanjani?

Hope you are right, but I'm having trouble mustering faith in the same Iranian people who elected this nut-job President and remain silent every time he calls for the destruction of Israel...?

Which brings to mind part of an interview between Hugh Hewitt and Christopher Hitchens:

HH: Rove today, in a speech in Houston, suggested that Ahmadinejead is, in fact, nutter, talking about his U.N. halo speech.

CH: Yes.

HH: There are many who believe this. Your reaction?

CH: No, he is an obviously unhinged and mediocre and deluded figure, but remember, he's only the puppet who was put in at the last minute during the pseudo-elections that were held...by the way, nothing is more irritating to me than to read in the mainstream media that he won the election in a landslide and all of this. He won an election after the mullahs had combed out and fired all of the legitimate candidates. And even after they'd done that, they weren't sure their own person could win, and he was shoved in at the very last moment as a ringer, so to speak. He's a puppet of the mullahs, and he has no power of his own.

Which brings us back to point...

If the Iranian people want real reform, if they are truly sick of Islamic rule and nut-jobs like Ahmadinejead, and seek the support of America and/or the international community in that effort, now would be an opportune time to take direct action... before their leaders bring the fires of hell upon their people by continuing to provoke war.

No?

Rebeling against the Blue State in which you happen to reside?

If so, tell me how I have defended a single despot today? (or any other day)...
