My apologise for not recognizing your sarcasm. It's rather pathetic that something you meant as sarcasm -- and which sarcasm should have been unmistakeable as such -- blended in so well with the uninformed xenophobia that has become so prevalent here.

At some point I think the spin on this is going to change. Over time, more and more people will recognize the deal was a good one for us, and we made a mistake. But rather than blame themselves for hyperventilating, and for leaping at warp speed to false conclusions, they'll blame the White House for "not communicating" better. "It's your fault I was so misinformed, gullible, and hot-tempered."

You sized up the situation fast. People have become gullable and lazy in thought around here lately and it's time to bang 2 garbage can lids together to wake them up from their comfy sleep. At 4 AM it just may be possible to shock some sense into them while they run 2 miles as a starter in their underwear.

Ah, yes. They've already begun to do so.

Seems no one can take responsibility for their own actions anymore. Except, this W.H. Perhaps among the only ones in D.C. I've ever seen take full responsibility even for events in which they have the right to point larger share of blame toward Others. Katrina for example.

It was bad enough when the Liberals blamed Bush for everything including their own failures. Hatching conspiracy theories about Rove orchestrating their embarrassments. Now conservatives have gotten into the act.

The administration isn't to be faulted for elected officials sending "hell No" missives and digging their heels into the ground rather than have facts presented to them by the admin on the port deal.

They have earned their shame.

Nothing would give me more pleasure right now then witnessing folks that thought this was key to their re-election, suddenly on the W.H. lawn pleading for help this fall to save their butts yet again. And I'd love to see that door slam shut in their faces.

I agree with you time will change everything, because folks that killed this already know something is wrong. They should be at peace, and they aren't. First clue that what they did, or at very least how they went about it, was very wrong.

Apology accepted. Perhaps if I'd had the time I would have re-read it before posting, and added a warning. It does ring pretty true to what folks have been posting. While the intent was to capture their sentiment, I DO understand the guttural reaction to that tripe. I'm still burning mad over it and have about had it with the Pat Buchanon/Tom Tancredo/Michelle malkin sycophants that regularly spread it among the People.
