Always, the final authority belongs to the citizens of these United States.

Well, yeah, but.... In this case, the citizens decided they didn't want to live next to a trash heap, and established rules requiring property owners to maintain a minimal level of upkeep on their property. The citizens then empowered code enforcement officers to enforce those rules. And, the citizens then empowered the courts to hear and dispose of cases where the rules were broken.

You can question whether community standards that were voted in by elected representatives of the citizens infringe on individual rights, you can argue that freedom equates with anarchy, but you can't argue that the courts, or code enforcement over-reached in this instance, they just did their job. She made a promise to the court, which was acting as the citizens had empowered it to act, then she didn't keep the promise. It's as simple as that.

If the citizens living nest to her did not wish to live next to a trash heap, they are free to help clean it up.

Charity is something that Judges can not control, but American citizens have in abundance.

However, once citizens no longer care about the people who live close to them, then they will receive the same treatment when their time comes.

Again, why are you a member of Free Republic, and what are you trying to defend?

I'll move next door to you.

I won't cut my grass, so you do it for me.

I'll just throw my garbage out into my backyard, you go ahead and pick it up for me.

I'll pile up building materials everywhere on my property, if you don't like them, do something with them.

Oh, about the rats, mice, and all the other vermin hiding in my piles of building materials, eating the garbage in my yard, and running into your house...get a cat.

Don't you dare infringe on my freedom to infest your house.

Before you make a statement with such certainty you might try to check your "facts?"

"She"- I have worked like a dog to improve my property. They know very well that I have abated and complied with everything- but the gutters which were accidentally damaged by a helper while I was putting on a BRAND NEW roof-myself. The reason I don't have the money is because I have had to throw away THOUSANDS of dollars on fines and attorney fees!!!!

Most of the tickets if not all are fabrications. I have an herb garden which they in their infinite ignorance have declared to be "weeds" these guys wouldn't know a weed from chamomile, sage, spearmint, etc. if they got bit in the butt!

I was ticketed for not having lids on my trash cans, if you live anywhere nearby please come by- as many others have and you will see that all of my trash bins have lids and always have!

One ticket was for not bringing in the gargabe can within 12 hours of pick-up. This is true- I was at work before 8:00 a.m. working until 6:00 p.m. and then straight to my plumbing class from 6:30-9:30. When I arrived home at 10:00 p.m. I brought it in- what a law-breaker am I!!! I have only one neigbor who brings her can in right away because she is retired. My other neighbors used to bring their cans in the day or two after; they no longer do so since I was ticketed.

I also got a ticket for leaving my recyclables at the curb in bins for six weeks- WOW, what a terrible person! I had help from my son to bring them down to the curb and they were too heavy for me to bring back up. Why would I have had to do that? Well, because the DPW didn't pick it up. Who ordered the DPW to pick up everyone else's recyclables but mine???? And if I had placed them in the garbage instead I would have been fined for that!

Are you beginning to get the picture???

Please put the word out- the town is being run by fascists.
