Gee, I fell into the "Inspectors"

Given the fact I've been an Inspector for 26 years this thing must be way off.

INFP People of this type tend to be: quiet, reserved, and kind; deeply passionate, sensitive, and easily hurt; loving and dedicated to those close to them; creative, original, and imaginative; curious and flexible in small matters; nonconforming. The most important thing to INFPs is their deeply held beliefs and living in harmony with their values.

Do people really think that I am easily hurt? Really? Devastating. I saw myself as such a tough, adaptable person. But now I am just an overly sensitive crybaby.

"J" I don't understand however.

J is part of the Judging/Perceiving dimension. Do you prefer closure or keeping your options open? Do you prefer to make judgements (decisions) or to take in and absorb information (perceive)?

J/P also indicates which of your functions is extraverted (used in the external world). The functions are Sensing, Intuiting, Feeling and Thinking. Sensing and Intuiting are different ways of perceiving; Feeling and Thinking are different ways of making decisions.

If you are a "J" then it means you prefer making decisions, so your decision making function is the one that is extraverted (used in the external world). In the case of an ISTJ, that would be thinking. In the case of an INFJ, that would be feeling.

If you are a "P" then it means you prefer taking in information, so your perceiving function (S or N) is the one that is extraverted. In my case, as an INFP, that would be iNtuiting.

I just have to keep talking about this because I love this topic so much, and the personality types of Freepers has long fascinated me.

Being an "E" or an "I" on the test does not determine if you are outgoing, if you like people, if you're anti-social, "weird", or anything like that. It just determines what drains your energy and what gives you energy. I am an introvert.

I love people, and I like a good, bonding social gathering. But at the end I feel more drained with these "outside myself" activities than I do when I pray, meditate, plan, think, etc. On the other hand, extraverts like my mother are more drained by "inside yourself" activities.

There are extraverts who don't really like most people and are not that sociable. Quite a few extravert Rationals can accurately be described that way. Many of them have very little tolerance for small-talk and "make-nice" conventional conversations.

Grammy would be a cake decorator.... but not your everyday type of cakes... more like the ones you see on Martha Stewarts weddings. They involve not only creativity and artistry, but lots of architecture as well.

I wonder what, if anything, we can make from the apparent small number of "artisans." Maybe they aren't the FReep type (assuming we have a truly random spread)? Or is it they don't take tests like this?

Well, I am an iNTj -- Computer Consultant/Manager

Thanks for the wrap up of a INTJ. It is rather scary cause it describes me to a T. I am not a snob or aloof, just a quiet introvert who knows everything. :)

You are welcome; it was interesting to me and a pleasure to peruse and post!

One thing I've noticed about INTJs: They are very thankful people!
