"He said actual sex acts are needed to help win prostitution convictions."

Who's the one breaking the law... the cops or the girls.

It's not the kind of email I can send from work, but Sheriff Smith will be hearing from me. I wouldn't be surprised if he is a Libertarian - there's a large nest in Spotsy. Until I actually met some, I had voted Libertarian for years. When I went to a meeting, I found out it's really just about the drugs, so I moved over to the Republicans.

Another FR post: Arkansas Police Chief, Mayor, Chief's Wife Arrested (3 the hard way) located at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1578403/posts

The town's mayor was arrested in a corruption probe, its police chief is accused in a drug-making scheme, and the prosecutor says the chief's wife took prisoners from jail to have sex with them - and more arrests could be coming.

This is a town folks might want to get arrested in.

The articles you post tend to burn my ass. I'd bet this one will burn yours too. Talk about two sets of rules!

Rush is talking about this even now.

My view is that if an officer needs to speed to catch a speeder, it can be viewed as a reasonable and necessary tool of the job. However, if an officer must engage in sex to arrest someone else for prostitution, he too has broken the law. It is saying in essence, "I can break the law, but you can't. We both broke the law, but you'll go to jail and I won't."

This is the ultimate violation of public trust.

Let's just allow this to sink in a bit:

The public nuisance or consequence of this crime is so little that cops have to break the law themselves in order to arrest people for violating it? Here you have hypocracy and irony all rolled into one!

I absolutely agree and does it also mean that a female undercover officer must have sex with a john in order to arrest him?

If so I bet he is really a Libertarian!

If he were a libertarian, he wouldn't be so gung-ho to bust people for a "victimless crime."

If he were a Libertarian, why in the world would he be so gung-ho to prosecute people for this "victimless crime?" It'd be like a Liberal running a one-man crusade to eliminate a tax that would've gone on to fund universal health care.

Let's see, the local SO (probably) uses taxpayer money to participate in a crime (presumably)in order to get a conviction (unlikely) Now, who is screwing whom? (ABSOLUTELY)!

Actually, that is a VERY good question. Because of gender perceptions, I doubt that ANY jurisdiction would allow for such a situation. A female officer who had sex for money in order to get "evidence" would be avoided by (normal) males looking for a wife, and most people would automatically label her as a "slut" and "skank."
