Over on MSNBC, Matthews asked Howard Dean about the NSA stuff and the claim that if we'd done what Bush is doing now we might have caught two of the hijackers.
And you know what Howard Dean said? He said, "That's not true, because we weren't listening at all."
Was he serious -- could he NOT know about Able Danger and the NSA intercepts?
Or was he just lying?
Regarding Kristol's lackluster enthusiasm for W.'s speech. How MANY times have we watched W. speak, only to hear Kristol complain, only to have him come out the NEXT day and change his mind? That man has a true tin ear when it comes to speeches. Watch him tomorrow. He will get the results of what *Americans* thought of the speech and start his predictable backpedalling.
Or was he just lying?
%%%%
Need you ask!
The man is a buffoon.
Matthews interviewed Mehlman after Dean, asked good questions, got good answers, and in the wrap-up, called (started to call) Mehlman the Democrat chairman--- I bet Matthews was thinking "why can't we have a smart guy like this to chair our party?"
I doubt if a lie detector would reveal Howie to be a liar. It's pathological--he's heard and repeated so many lies that he now truly believes his revisionist bullsh*t.
