I guess I should have put a sarcasm alert at the end. Church and State was not used in law until 1947 by Hugo Black, an anti-Catholic Klansman. It's been used to bash Christianity since then.

It is worth noting that by the time Bush left as governor of Texas, the Texas Democrat Party had become just as disfunctional as the national Democrat Party. GWB will, I believe, be successful in peeling off just enough Democrat support to get some of his initiaves passed. Mark my word. Senate Dems up for reelection are scared and will give fall in behind him.
Oh yeah, they can reach insanity levels that no one has ever descended to, and lived to tell about it. They know no bounds. I used to believe they would finally bottom out. That was levels and levels ago. No, they are definitely able to descend. And willing.

Not sure I'll go that far, but I'd be hard pressed not to vote for him. But I'm agin him on the social issues and unless he's had some epiphany he'll be as bad about immigration/the border as Bush has been.
But, as I say, I'd be hard pressed not to vote for him, but I don't think pubbies in the heartland will feel as I do.
