You can of course drive whatever you wish to.

But, the US will not base its foreign policy on your automotive needs. There is no Constitutional right to gasoline. If we go to war against Iran, as we may have to, one can anticipate losing not only the oil output from Iran but also all the additional oil that passes through the Straits of Hormuz everyday. Some 10 to 15% of the world's daily out put could be interupted for perhaps weeks or even months. Gasoline and diesel prices would skyrocket (with associated demand destruction) and severe shortages might occur.

You might not be able to get as much fuel for your truck as you are used to at the prices you are accustomed to.

If you are fine with that, then I have no problem with your position.

Ahh, thank God you're all here-just watched the speech, was filled with pride, then got a big Debbie Downer moment hearing the Fox News analysis-I was like, "Did you guys watch the same speech I did?". I'm glad a lot of you agree with me-great speech, I hope Bush keeps hammering away at the idea that this is a critical point in history-we MUST be on the right side of it. This is what really defines his presidency for me.

"BTW..Mort just said that if the dems gain control of the HOUSE..there WILL be an impeachment attempt"

You better believe there'll be an impeachment attempt. John Conyers will become Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. A very good reason to support Republicans for the House.

Regarding Kristol's lackluster enthusiasm for W.'s speech. How MANY times have we watched W. speak, only to hear Kristol complain, only to have him come out the NEXT day and change his mind? That man has a true tin ear when it comes to speeches. Watch him tomorrow. He will get the results of what *Americans* thought of the speech and start his predictable backpedalling.

I believe I read that Byrd is running again.

There's your answer to why he voted AYE for Alito.

The Justice Alito was sweet, endearing. He looked so shy and pleased and awed. He is a good, good man.

He really did seem very sweet and shy and modest in his robes, like he was a little overawed that he was actually there. It's the same aw-shucks little boy look that John Roberts has.

That freshness and genuineness and aura of basic goodness seems to be generated in the Senate only by Jeff Sessions and John Cornyn.
