See How They Run: GOP Finally Learning Politics 101?
12/12/05

Posted on 12/12/2005 11:10:20 AM PST by Williams

Hasn't the news focus totally changed? President Bush answered the dems' charges, the House called the dems' bluff 403 -3, and now the GOP posted a web ad using the dems' own defeatist words. What a joy it is to see the Drudge story still up: "Senator Asks Bush to Withdraw Attack Ad".

Is there just a chance the GOP will learn from this success? It's been so long I have my doubts. But isn't it obvious that with just a bit of aggressiveness, shining a light on the dems' illogic, the entire national debate has changed? Nothing factual changed on the "Bush lied" stories, but they stopped. The dems' calls for withdrawal stopped, in fact they deny them now. The dems got exposed with a big fat left wing foot in their mouth. Now the dem policy seems to be to claim that they are responsible for Bush's policy!

Will the GOP learn that when it dips in the polls it's for two reasons - Because it allows middle of the roaders to hear leftist nonsense unchallenged AND because in so doing it loses support from the conservative base. I hope so, because I support this president's policies and when he supports them I think he is unbeatable.

The GOP seems to have a habit of stumbling across what actually works...but then it picks itself up, dusts itself off, and carries on as usual.

(Nods to Sir Winston Churchill.)

I too am optimistically skeptical. I am almost tempted to give them money again.
Is this ad on the tv too?

Didn't you see Lindsay Graham on MTP? He was sitting right next to 'Mad NotBright' when he said that the ad should be PULLED.

Totally agree. The PR effort on all fronts and the response to democrat lies has been good for a month. I would hope they learn, but I don't know.

I had thought it was a TV ad, but I thought I heard it was an internet ad. I'm not too sure if I heard that right, however.

one hopes, but one cannot be sure: the GOP has a long history of being politically maladroit.

indeed, as inept as the GOP habitually is in public relations, it amazes and cheers me to see how the DNC has fallen over the last several years... perhaps the public is not entirely brain-dead.

What was his 3-cards-short logic for saying that?

Go figure... Frist ALMOST said the same thing on FOXNews... until he caught himself and said that the ad used the RATs own words.

When first asked, he was of the opinion that BOTH sides should “tone it down”... and that he hadn't heard Howard Dean's seditious comments. HADN'T HEARD?!!

Honest'a God... these guys are like a house of cards waiting to be blown over.

I hope to God that this isn't just and accident, that it's really part of a plan to stomp down the Democrat moonbat-iness that has been destroying this nation.
