"Has he given up the senate seat to do this gig, or does he retain it if he loses?"

Near as I can tell, he is still in the Senate and will remain there until his term expires (soon, I hope!) or he resigns.

Maybe someone else has the good info on this.

The fact that it is even close is remarkable to me.

It shows how the Democrat Party in New Jersey has imploded.

President Bush had 350,000 more votes in 2004 than in 2000, and a net gain of 250,000 votes versus his opponent in New Jersey in 2004.

Of course the defeated liberal media will not mention that Kaine the Democrat is the lieutenant governor of Virginia and that Virginia currently has a Democrat governor.

"all the "DemocRAT voters" coming in from surrounding states will give the New Jersey economy a boost"

We shouldn't forget that New Jersey requires no identification or proof of residence to register to vote as long as you do it at the County Election office. You just take the PATH subway across the river from NYC to the election office in Jersey City (it's a 10 minute subway ride), fill out a form using your buddy's or union boss's address (and your SS# to verify American citizenship), and they'll send your voter id card, and you're ready set to have your vote counted on election day. No need to bother actually renting an apartment or buying a house in New Jersey, or getting a New Jersey driver's license.

Could it be that Corzine may lose?

"He is a sitting Senator."

I could substitute any number of words for "sitting".

I got off the Turnpike in Jersey City to avoid traffic on way to Holland Tunnel.

The poor neighborhoods are plastered with "Team Corzine" and "Vote Column B" on literally every telephone poll. I saw a group of "Corzine volunteers" (i.e. paid union operatives) walking down the sidewalk. Corzine has been giving hundreds of thousands of dollars of his personal fortune to African-American churches (this has been documented in the newspapers.) They will get out every inner city voter for this election.

Don't forget that until the 1970s, Hudson County was using voting machines with the levers whittled down to only record 8 of every 10 GOP votes. So the cemetary and half of NYC may be voting too.

Forrester needs a 3 or 4 point lead in an unbiased poll to overcome fraud and "turnout" on election day.

I'm surprised that it is this close also. If the election ends up being this close, I wonder if the MSM will celebrate the result like they did for the DemocRAT Iraqi War veteran in Ohio who came in second. It would be great to see Forrester win but you can bet the DemocRATS have been scheming to insure a "win" for Corzine. A Corzine loss would be devastating to the Commie 'RAT Party.

hOwever, a judge is just NOW responding to a request by Republicans TWO months ago to look at the problem of dead voters on the election rolls. Supposedly, she wants all the election boards to work this weekend and get her the list of the "dead" by Monday morning....lists that date back to 1985! Evidently the judge's SECRETARY got an absentee ballot request for her DEAD father and she is "outraged!!" Especially since the head of NJ elections said he didn't know he was responsible for getting dead voters off the roles (a dem of course).
THough this is good news, after closed door seesion with both lawyers, she eased up on the deadline for the request...as the REpublican attorney said, "Seems like the Dems want the dead to vote!" I know the judge originally wanted lists at every princint so that workers could challenge "dead" voters, but not sure that's going to happen....naturally.!

This race could have national implications since Lautenberg may die before the end of his term.

That fossil is living on borrowed time.

Naming him to replace Toricelli could be one of the biggest mistakes made by the corrupt NJ Dem. machine, if things pan out right.

In 2001, Warner (D) won in Virgina replacing a Republican.

In 2001, McGreevy (D) won in New Jersey replacing a Republican.

How did the Democrats do in 2002, 2003 and 2004?

Also, those 2001 wins for the Democrats were after 9-11 when the President had a national 85% Job Approval.

The political exploitation of the African-American community by the rancid NJ Dem. Party continues apace.

When will people learn?

"I know the judge originally wanted lists at every precinct so that workers could challenge "dead" voters, but not sure that's going to happen....naturally.!"

Whenever I have voted in Hudson County, the only "challengers" are Democratic operatives who challenge any attempt by the poll workers to request identification or verify the eligibility of a voter (i.e. to ensure that New Jersey's already loose election laws are enforced very minimally.) I have never seen a Republican "challenger", but every precinct has 2-3 Democratic "challenger."

Now if the tape of corzine making fun of Black Ministers while with Carla Katz on a cruise to the Greek Isles, which people have reported seeing, was to come out this would put Doug over the top. Go Doug Go!!!!!!!

I was going to vote for the libertarian, Jeff Pawlowski, or write in Schundler. Forrester has no plan and no principles to stick to. But he's still better than Corzine.

Coin toss time.

Vote for Forrestor.

Defeating liberals nationally starts at home.

A vote for anyone other than Forrester is a vote for the Democrats going into 2006.

The National big picture wins give us the edge in the House and Senate that we need to fight terrorists and their liberal allies.

The stunt this week by THE SADDAM HUSSEIN DEFENSE TEAM of Ried-Rockefeller-Durbin&Levin Attorneys at Law would be 1,000 fold worse if they were in charge.

Corzine must be fought to the end and beaten if possible.

Exactly! I live in South Jersey, in a fairly large community BUT many people know one another, so it's a bit harder to "cheat." That being said..one would think that if IRAQ can have a way to ensure one-person, one-vote, WE should be able to do so. The biggest problem is not just dead people voting, but people going from precint to precinct and voting multiple times for the "dead."
