My National Review colleague Byron York reported on last Saturday’s anti-war rally on the Ellipse in Washington, D.C. The main message of the rally was President Bush’s evil and stupidity—fair enough, in a two-party system—and the main instance of it was Iraq. The warriors of the anti-war movement—Joan Baez, Ramsey Clark, Cindy Sheehan—were front and center.
A secondary text of the rally was Katrina; weather, the perennial joke of the newsroom, has become a main event. But another theme was anti-Zionism. As Mr. York reports, kaffiyehs outnumbered American flags. George Galloway, the left-wing M.P., wore one around his neck.

I don't know but there are going to be many dems in the unemployment line come election time.
Many Jews are themselves Democrats on the left and that party IMO doesn't love the Jews, so I don't know what the appeal is for Jewish people to be on the left.
Maybe because Jews got emancipation in the 19th century when Socialist ideas were in vogue. The emancipated Jews joined in to swim with the current. If they only read the things Karl Marx (himself born Jewish) said about them.

This also has the potential to push the Democratic nominee back toward the center. Look at what happened to Howard Dean - he turned out to be nuts but look how quickly the Dems decided Howard wasn't electable even though he had the most delegates.
This is sad. The last lines evoke an image I keep because I can not throw it in the trash. A man carrying a little dead child from the blown up pizza parlor.

Jews have always thought the Left stood for things like truth, liberty, and justice for all. In reality, all the Left really cares about is getting and holding power--at any cost. If they have to stab long time allies in the back to do it, so be it--after all, the ends justify the means, right?
Like it or not, Muslims are increasing their numbers in the US--that trend will only continue. Right now there are probably more Muslims in the US than Jews. And numbers = power. Unfortunatley, too many Jews were concerned with their careers and self-fullfillment than reproduction & the future of their culture. The Left may be many things, but they have no problem reading the writing on the wall.
Sure, Leftist leaders will still continue to say the right things, but they will increasingly do it in private, while taking donations from rich, liberal Jews. But the sad truth is that in 1-2 decades, look for the Left to use Jews as a scapegoat in much the same way the Nazis did.

Fortunately for Russia's Jews, Stalin died of a stroke before he could fully implement the Doctor's plot. Allegedly he got his fatal stroke because he refused to follow the advice of one of his Jewish doctors that he was going to put on trial. The doctor told him not to take saunas because of his high blood pressure. Stalin ignored him (Stalin was trying to kill him, in fact) and went to the saunas anyway and then came his fatal stroke.
