I thought it interesting as it is our blood supply that was at risk because of the AIDS epidemic .

From now on if blood is needed I will do a direct donation, no more Red Cross

And definitely no more money to them.

I remember going to my local blood bank (not operated by the Red Cross) in October 2001. They advised me that they had a surplus and to donate at a later date.
