I was just thinking I'll never forget that morning when our golden retriever was barking like crazy and then we hear this deafening roar like a 747 was landing on our house....we run outside and can see the steaks across the sky...didn't think much about it until we turned on the news and saw what had happened over Texas...I cried and cried thinking we had come so close to the situation..and what must their loved ones be feeling....
God Bless those that went up today.....its as American as apple pie isn't it? My heart is always so proud when these guys go up!!!

One of the astronauts on that flight was a member of my aerobatic chapter. She lived here when she trained at Ames. My club was very touched by that event, as you could imagine.

That was a horrible day, wasn't it? And for you to be so close to it...thank god you were OK. I remember it well. I was a little south of the falling debris - I was in Houston.
But this day is a happy one - we're going back! Yet another example of Americans refusing to be defeated! WOOOOHOOOO!!!
