Agreed, that on certain items O'Conner could be easily improved on, but on others she has been right for conservatives and could easily be on a different side from others who might change that one issue. Witness her scathing agreement with the minority on the recent eminent domain issue - that minority vote could easily be even weaker with someone who nevertheless had an originalist philosophy.
