Bush alters line on leaks President now says anyone in administration who committed a crime would be dismissed Tuesday, July 19, 2005

By Ann McFeatters, Post-Gazette National Bureau

WASHINGTON -- President Bush subtly shifted his language yesterday about punishing anyone working for him who may have leaked the name of a CIA agent, suggesting that his new standard for firing someone is whether an actual crime was committed.

Bush once said that if anyone in his administration leaked classified information, "appropriate action" would be taken. Yesterday, in response to a question at a press conference with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Bush said, "If someone committed a crime, they will no longer work in my administration."

Exactly..I don't know why Sean Hannity is not repeating this every show..to my knowledge he has not even mentioned it...I tried to email him, but my email came back. Anyone else with ideas on getting this out to the mainstream media would be helpful.

So anyone that advises Bush should resign? OK, I'm sure that will be just fine. Do you have a contract to cater the DNC party or something?

The media nuclear jihad against Bush is not propaganda?

In my opinion, everybody is entitled to making up their own view of the world, without manipulation by a political mastermind.

How about the media? Howard Dean? James Carville? Not that they are masterminds by any means.

With your new sign up date and your clueless comments I must deduce that you are very stupid or a troll.

The whole role and purpose of the media **FRICKIN OFFENDS ME!!!*** UNDERSTAND????

Sorry for yelling but some times ya just have to.

No use with the mainstream media. The "new media" outlets should do more though. Let the public know and they can make up their own mind.

Coordinated police action in a number of countries seem to have been quite effective at that in the recent years.

Source?

John Kerry? - That you?

4 years without a serious attack in the mainland? How do you measure success? France and Germany being our good buddies?

But it is not too late to dry out the sources for terrorist support, by political means.

Show your hand. How do you do it if you were king?

There are a couple of obvious answers, including to change the policies so that they address the *legitimate* grievances of those people who would otherwise become terrorist supporters or even terrorists themselves.

You mean enjoying freedom and not being a adherent of Islam? So we all should convert to Islam eliminate the terrorist threat?

So, you think the al qaedas, hizbollahs, islamic jihads, PLO's, etc. of the world have "legitimate" grievances based on our foreign policies? You think that by changing our policies, i.e. appeasing the terrorist organizations and state sponsors of terrorism, that we will reduce terrorism? On the contrary, it will only make us look weak and make us an even more attractive target for terrorists. Then, we will need to change our economic policies and our environmental policies to placate the enviroterrorists. The approach you advocate has failed miserably in Europe and everywhere else it has been tried.

Isn't the issue that first Bush said anyone "involved" would be dealt with, and now he's changed the criteria to "committed a crime"?

Hi:

Sorry about the heat you get for disagreeing. Disagreement is my favorite part of these types of threads. The 'mono-culture' can get monotonous.

I've heard that concept, "we're making more terrorists than we're killing/capturing", before. Yet it makes no sense to me, and I've looked around and found no confirmation of such an idea.

In fact, I see quite the opposite.

So may I ask, what do you base that assessment on?

"If there's a leak out of my administration, I want to know who it is," Bush told reporters at an impromptu news conference during a fund-raising stop in Chicago, Illinois. "If the person has violated law, that person will be taken care of.

You're twisting the same way the MSM is. Bush said he'd deal with anyone that leaked CLASSIFIED INFORMATION. What about Valerie Plame's identity was classified?
