... [Osama Bin Ladens] call to duty defines the essence of our duty that we must be of two minds about terrorism. We must go about our lives as though nothing has changed, while simultaneously remembering that everything could change in an instant more horrible than we can imagine.
Above all, we must not confuse or combine the two ideas. We must not let our courage in everyday life morph into the mistaken belief that terrorists are inevitable or that mutual coexistence is an option. As Secretary of State Rice said Thursday, in a slap at the appeasement lobby, "There can be no separate peace."
...But as the barbarism in London proved, there can be no retreat or compromise in the war on terror. And what Bush said about Bin Laden is even more true now: "We need to take him seriously."
Nailed It!
This ping list is not author-specific for articles I'd like to share. Some for perfect moral clarity, some for provocative thoughts; or simply interesting articles I'd hate to miss myself. (I don't have to agree with the author 100% to feel the need to share an article.) I will try not to abuse the ping list and not to annoy you too much, but on some days there is more of good stuff that is worthy attention. You can see the list of articles I pinged to lately on my page.
Besides this one, I keep separate PING lists for my favorite authors Victor Davis Hanson, Orson Scott Card, David Warren and Lee Harris (sometimes). You are welcome in or out, just freepmail me (and note which PING list you are talking about).
The radical Muslims are like wild animals. You treat them well and take them into your country and then they turn around and bite you. Britian has still not awakened to this fact.
14 centuries of mass murder and counting.
We are in a war of religions. Our current conflict is between those who know this fact and those who fight to prove otherwise.
The will of Islam evaporates when the facts are known about its beginings. But this can't happen since the MSM, the Supreme court, the US Senate (Trent Lott- 33rd degree mason) and most Europeans "know" that Christianiy is no better a religion that islam or hinduism and is most likely a fairy tale for simple minded, uneducated, low income trouble makers.
The things we know for certain are the most dangerous ideas of all.
