Why do you think the father wanted to kidnap his own kids? And if he did, what was to stop him from just taking them during a visitation? The way I read your post, it's like he contracted with someone else to snatch his kids and it went horribly wrong. Wherever did you get an idea like that?
I heard on Fox News today, that Shasta said that that creep that had her, DID murder the people in her house, and that he sexually abused BOTH she and Dylan...
Is that for sure? Is there anything in your local news that is different?
This was not on our local news this evening. Our news reported that Shasta said she had gone to bed and her mother woke her and brought her to the living room where the family was being tied up by "a man." She and Dylan were carried to a pick-up truck (and later transferred to a jeep). No mention of whether they witnessed the actual murders. Shasta also said both she and Dylan were repeatedly molested by Duncan. DNA results are expected late tonight on the remains found.

I hadn't heard the part about the mother waking Shasta up. I would think the mom would not admit to there being any other children in the house to save Shasta. To me, this indicates that Duncan had been stalking the children and knew in advance they were in that house. And that his motive was to kidnap the children, and this necessitated killing the older family members.
On his website, in the last entry, Duncan indicated he was going to go out and do something "terrible" to society. He is a cruel and evil man, and should get the death penalty.
Shasta will have to testify against him in open court if there is a jury trial. May God give her the strength and courage to do this.
