Rove: Dems Didn't Get 9/11 Consequences
AP ^ | 6/22/5 | SAM DOLNICK

New York -- Speaking in a Manhattan ballroom just a few miles north of ground zero, Karl Rove said on Wednesday night that the Democratic party did not understand the consequences of the Sept. 11 attacks.

"Liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers," Rove said. "Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 and the attacks and prepared for war."

Rove, President Bush's chief political advisor, spoke at the state Conservative Party's annual dinner. He praised the conservative movement's success, calling it "the guiding philosophy for the White House, the Senate, the House."

"I don't care why they hate us, just as long as they fear us."
Yep, but the degree of fear needs to be continually increased, ultimately to the point when they would literally die from fear, and then a bit more. Otherwise [i.e. unless and until they all die out from fear] one needs to be on perpetual guard against them.

"Rove's statement is just more grandstanding ..."

Sometimes, what matters is what's said, not the motive.

The man did something right, for whatever reasons. It's important to recognize and applaud this.

It is interesting that the democrats believe with all their hearts that if they say it in new and interesting ways it will be believed. I had a liberal friend who remarked that 9-11 was very bad for the philosophy of the liberals. He understood the implications, and they do too. They are now in the process of re-writing history by redefining everything from terrorism to religion. To liberals, the printed and spoken word will eventually "awaken" the voters to the final truth that we are to blame for everything, Because we offended them (and we still offend them) in every way and at all times, because we live our lives and worship in a different culture we are offensive to them. And if we were smart, because there are so many of them, we would simply stop offending them. I hate to say it, but with the media on their side, maybe they will turn the world around so that as Michael Savage says wrong is right and false is true.

One of the reasons that Muslims hate us is that most of us are onto them. We know they hate us and want to conquer us and we have the statements to prove it.

Also, they know that in most European countries and Australia it is against the law for citizens to speak out against them. Here in America most of us don't give a damn, pass a law and we will still speak out.

Not only will we speak out but if you attack us we will retaliate.

Karl Rove Says Democrats Didn't Understand Consequences of Sept. 11 Attacks

By Sam Dolnick Associated Press Writer
Published: Jun 23, 2005 NEW YORK (AP) - Speaking in a ballroom just a few miles north of ground zero, Karl Rove said the Democratic party did not understand the consequences of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

"Liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers," Rove said Wednesday night. "Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 and the attacks and prepared for war."

Rove, President Bush's chief political adviser, spoke at the state Conservative Party's annual dinner. He praised the conservative movement's success, calling it "the guiding philosophy for the White House, the Senate, the House."

Rove said the Democratic Party made the mistake of calling for "moderation and restraint" after the terrorist attacks.

"Conservatives saw what happened to us on 9/11 and said we will defeat our enemies. Liberals saw what happened to us and said we must understand our enemies."

Rove also denounced Sen. Dick Durbin's comments comparing interrogation at the Guantanamo Bay prison camp to the methods of Nazis and other repressive regimes. He said the statements have been broadcast throughout the Middle East, putting American troops in greater danger. Durbin has since apologized for the remarks.

"No more needs to be said about the motives of liberals," Rove said.

Well hell, I could have told you that 3 years ago. And honestly, even I was a little late in coming to that conclusion. It took me a couple of months, probably around January of 2002, to realize that very, very few Dems learned the lesson.

"Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 and the attacks and prepared for war."

I was out of country on 9/11.

Not long after I returned, I had guests for dinner. I was amazed when these folks refused to accept my assertion that we were at war.

"Get Katherine Harris elected to the Senate (what are you guys afraid of there?)"

My opinion was the Bush Administration had something to do with her decision not to run for Senate-as they were concerned about the closeness of another vote in FL and what they perceived as a possible backlash against Harris. And Harris, being the good soldier, went along with this.

"I don't care why they hate us, just as long as they fear us"

It's not enough to have superior firepower; it's not enough that our enemy knows we have superior firepower; it's not enough that our enemy knows we will use superior firepower; no, our enemies need to know that we ENJOY using superior firepower.

Liberals are not a sad lot. They are a dangerous lot that will get the rest of us killed.

I fear you are correct.

Dems will be all over Rove for an apology... while they continue to undermine our military daily and refuse to apologize for being traitors.

"Liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers," Rove said.

The extreme (mainstream?) left saw 9-11 as the beginning of the end of their wait for a Marxist revolution in America. They made too many rash statements in their haste to help The Revolution (tm) along and ended up exposing themselves. Ironic turn of events for people who think so highly of their own intellect.

I had a liberal friend who remarked that 9-11 was very bad for the philosophy of the liberals.

It thoroughly repudiated leftism going back to the fall of Saigon.

To liberals, the printed and spoken word will eventually "awaken" the voters to the final truth

Final truth sounds scarily similar to final solution. Remove the quotes and you got yourself some genuine Lakoff barking moonbat neosocialist parlance.

I hate to say it, but with the media on their side, maybe they will turn the world around so that as Michael Savage says wrong is right and false is true.

IMHO, too many smart people now recognize Olds Media as pure propaganda for it to function effectively.

Actually as Doug McIntyre is saying right now on KABC radio, Rove's statements yesterday are wrong... both left and right came together, as I recall, too, after 9/11.

I seem to recall Libs and Conservatives singing in an impromptu prayer service on Ventura Blvd. by hand held candlelight in the days after 9/11.

Rove is GRANDSTANDING and it is as devisive as Howard Dean. We DID come together for one glorious hour after 9/11 as one country undivided. Too bad Rove can't capitalize on that.

The extreme (mainstream?) left saw 9-11 as the beginning of the end of their wait for a Marxist revolution in America.

I did not see this in my local area, but it makes sense. The left is acting like they believe they could form an alliance with fanatic Islam and somehow wind up in charge of the socialist Eden that would result. Total folly, as they would wind up dead or converted and would preside over a 15th century nightmare.
