Expert: Many Promote Homosexual Parenting With Poor Reasons, Faulty Premise

It's a biological given that homosexuals cannot reproduce; however, many are getting children by hiring surrogates. One professor at Marquette University says these manufactured families are just an effort to "normalize" homosexuality.

Dr. Christopher Wolfe is a professor of political science and an expert on homosexuality and American public life. He says some homosexual couples really do want to adopt or have children because they desire a family; but those who do, he contends, are in the minority.

Wolfe says indications of this leads many analysts to suspect what he believes to be true, "that the big push for same-sex parenting has much less to do with the desire of homosexuals, generally, for children than it does with a desire that they have to not be different -- to not be singled out and treated differently."

For most homosexuals, Wolfe contends, the desire to become parents is really about legitimizing their type of relationship and denying the abnormality of it, including the inability to produce children. "They want to have the same rights that everybody else in society has," he says.

The Marquette University professor says homosexual activists try to stack their arguments in favor of homosexual parenting by citing studies that claim there is no noticeable difference between the children of homosexual couples and heterosexual couples. However, he notes, much of the evidence they cite comes from people who were looking for a particular outcome.

On the other hand, Wolfe points out, "If you look at a number of different first-rate social science articles that have approached this subject -- one is by anti-gay-parenting authors Robert Lerner and Althea K. Nagai -- they analyze all these studies about same-sex parenting and show that all of those studies are really defective." In fact, the professor adds, two pro-homosexual-parenting researchers actually point out in their study that children of homosexual parents do turn out differently from children parented by a mother and a father.

Rejecting the assumption that no differences exist, Wolfe says the two researchers investigated and went on to conclude that children of homosexual parents are more likely to be depressed and more likely to display homosexual tendencies as they mature.

It's refreshing to see pro-homosexual researchers being honest with the data.

Homosexuals DO have the same rights that everybody else in society has. They have the right to marry a person of the opposite sex and conceive children with them.... just like anybody else.

Awww. I feel so sorry for those poor little things. They get messed up in the head. They learn through example and no doubt many of them are bought as sex toys.
It's understandable they'd suffer. Their parents are freaks, and they have to be around them for so long without outside supervision. It's so sad.
I really feel sorry for Rosie O'Donalds kids. They're going to be mental disasters when they grow up! I'll bet they end up in mental institutions.

How on earth did they find enough adult children of same-sex couples to make a meaningful conclusion? The few kids I knew with gay parents were the result of a parent coming out after a traditional marriage.

i guess i'm surprised that pro-homosexual parenting researchers would be so honest... that they would even share their results... wow...

It's a biological given that homosexuals cannot reproduce;...........

I disagree with this so much it is not even funny. while I realize many of the activists just use surrogates, the majority of homosexuals I know actually do have offspring that were conceived in the normal manner. They "became" homosexual after the fact. Often MANY, MANY years later.

well, i take it they probably used a different method than you did... going beyond just the few kids they knew with gay parents... honestly, i do not know... but that is a good question...

Hey there. Yeah, I'm still around but not as much as before. I'm getting more involved in local issues. Good to see you, too.

Yes it is.

But I have to tell you - that everyone of these stories absolutely riles me to no end. There is a particular "gay adoption rights" activist that is also an anti-tobacco smoker activist. He actually believes that he and his "partner" are better suited as parents to "their" daughters than my husband and I are for our daughter because we smoke (tobacco only) and they don't.

I'm sorry to have gone on a tangent - but it torques me off to no end.

What I gathered from their statement was that homosexuals in a homosexual relationship cannot reproduce. They can only reproduce by engaging in heterosexual behavior.

And there's the rub... sexuality is fluid. Sexuality can flow from heterosexual to homosexual as we see so often, and from homosexual to heterosexual, as we see in the growing number of former homosexuals.

Those are the only ones I know personally.............and all but a few were practically adults when the coming out occurred.

I can certainly understand your being torqued! From what I understand, it will probably get worse (you'll hear more and more of that) before it gets better.

There's a growing mevement to inform the world of the growing number of former homosexuals. As that movement picks up steam, you'll probably see less and less of what the activist is telling you.

I love your screen name. What I find amazing is that I haven't seen it before and you've been a freeper for nearly 2 years.

What I find particularly interesting is the references to the flux capacitor outside the original movies. I've see it referenced in Stargate Atlantis and the Boondocks comic strip.

For what it's worth, Rosie's adopted son has said a number of comments about his mother. Her response, from what I've read about them were anything but loving. Basically, she said "yeah, yeah, go write a book." If he wrote it I'd certainly be interested.
