Investigators: Bullet Strays Into Bedroom Where Boy Was Sleeping

PASADENA, Texas -- A man who blasted a wasp's nest with a 12-gauge shotgun was jailed after an errant pellet injured a 5-year-old boy in a nearby apartment, police said.

Romeo Gonzalez, 18, was charged with deadly conduct and is being held in the Harris County Jail.

Pasadena Police Sgt. J.M. Baird said Gonzalez fired the gun to break up a wasp's nest hanging from a tree outside his second-floor apartment in the 3600 block of Shaver shortly after midnight Wednesday. The pellet entered a first-floor apartment and struck David Marban in the thigh.

The boy was hospitalized but is expected to recover.

LOL! Besides the little funny, last year I needed to do some radar work on a site that had a wasp nest on it. I stayed a long distance from it for days. Those wasps were big. They have >inch long landing gear they extend when you become their flight line. That anti-aircraft artillery in cans works fine:)

You may be able to create a good flame-thrower with it if you hold a decent flame in front of the nozzle. Try that as an experiment!

Wasps are strange. They get very touchy around the end of summer and will attack for no discernable reason.

I always wipe them out if I find them near the house, as I always have children and pets about.
