Foreman said he could not violate the confidential doctor-patient relationship respected around the world by giving the authorities the medical documents. “The reports and the victims of rape are both very real and we continue to do our medical work in Darfur,” he said.

Islamic societies also kill women who have had sex out of wedlock.

“If they don’t give us the medical documents, we will send them to the criminal court [on the charge of] publishing a false report which harms the general peace,” he said.

There is "general" peace in Sudan? Seems the charge could be fought on that claim alone. I wouldn't give them the documents either...those 500 women would be sure to "disappear".

While I'm cynical about Darfur, I also have to admit that Doctor's without Borders has mouthed off before without proper evidence. They are as libby as can be.

Mr Foreman had better be very careful.

I suspect the Sudanese want to demonstrate the activities Mr. Foreman has reported upon his posterior.

It serves MSF right. They have been apologists for the muslims for a number of years. Maybe this will be a good slap up-side the head for them when they wing up being forced to grovel to us for help in this matter.

MSF feels free to issue statements without evidence. Just take our word for it. They don't have that kind of credibility. Of course when the argument is "did to...did not" between MSF and Sudan there isn't much credibility on either side.

My guess is that he is now looking for safe "borders" to hide behind.

Well, if Sudan says this guy is a criminal, then he must be guilty. After all, isn't Sudan on the UN Human Rights tribunal? And everyone knows it's the US that is the main human rights abuser in the world. So, Mr. Foreman, report to jail - with your toothbrush.
