Well, things have slowed down considerably since the blizzard two weekends ago. since then it has been coolish, rainy & "yukky" in general. things are pushing up & the grass needs cutting, but I haven't done much work ... Need to.

Fitness advocate Jhannie Tolbert says you don't need a treadmill or specialized equipment to get a great physical workout at home. Tolbert uses a toolbox for stepping exercises, lifts soup cans to work his shoulder muscles, and employs other common household items in his daily training. He says you can stay fit at home using a low-tech approach. Other trainers agree and encourage people to use jump ropes, chairs, brooms, and even bags of groceries in conditioning routines. They see exercise as a matter of will, not wealth.

The same principle holds true with spiritual fitness. While Bible dictionaries, commentaries, and other books are helpful, we can begin spiritual training with nothing more than the Bible and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Paul urged his protégé Timothy: "Exercise yourself toward godliness. For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come" (1 Timothy 4:7-8).

It requires no money to study a Bible passage or memorize a verse. We don't need special equipment or materials to pray for a friend, give thanks to God, or sing His praise. We just need to begin where we are, with what we have, right now. -David McCasland

Good morning..a cute, fun thread for a Wednesday. Off to get the new lense for my glasses this morning. Hmmm wonder what other shopping I can get done while I wait for Lenscrafters to make my new lense? Lets see there is a Hancocks down the block, and I do keep my old pair of glasses for emergencies..and fabric shopping can be classified as an emergency for a quiltaholic like me.

We've had very cool weather this spring, too, so gardening has been a pleasure so far. My roses are in bloom as are all the iris. I finally (with the help of my husband) fixed a bed for herbs. I don't do much cooking anymore but old habits die hard! Gotta have an herb garden.

The window boxes hanging on the porch rails(eleven in all--I have a wrap-around porch going all the way around the house ending with the back deck) are finally ALL planted with all manner of flowering annuals.

But my favorite garden bed is my 'woodland' bed that I call my rock garden simply because of the rock border used to form it. It's situated in the shade of our rather wooded lot. In it are several different hostas and ferns planted by the previous owners. But I have begun to take the woodland wildflowers I find around the area and transplant them there(just like you do!).

I should be out weeding them now but I MUST do a bit of housework(darn it!) before things start growing in *here*.

I'll be gone the next couple of days so ya'll have a great weekend and I'll try to catch up on everything on the Finest when I return on Sun. Meanwhile, I'll try to pop in and out today as I rest between the packing and the cleaning---

LOL. Well, thank you, Dolly. Don't tell anyone, but I have a secret. Using past posts as a template makes putting these things together MUCH less time consuming. But don't tell anyone. I rather like people thinking I am slaving away into the night formating these things. LOL ;-) ;-)

I know, it will be easier... skills will be attained.

Of course they will! Hey, when I first started at the Finest, I could barely create a table that posted properly. Billie knows....I didn't even know what a blockquote was or when to use one!
