If you read her discharge summary from the hospital, which I linked above, you will see that she had the feeding tube inserted AT the hospital. Not after. And was never fed by mouth after that. She failed three years, consecutive years, of swallow tests. At which time it was recommended they be discontinued.

All agree that Terri had a feeding tube prior to discharge in 1990.

What I was seeking was evidence that she was never fed by mouth from 1990 to 2005. What year was the first swallow test? I would figure that there was a feeding tube from sometime before the first swallow test.

I don't think we all do agree that the feeding tube was inserted in the hospital. There have been multiple freepers (not on this thread but on others) that the feeding tube was insert at a later date, after MS got tired of overseeing her care.

I don't remember the first year of the swallow test but believe it was 1990 or 1991. Doctors don't leave in a feeding tube just because ... there are tests done to see if the patient can swallow on their own.
