NASA interested in Indian moon mission

The National Aeronautics Space Agency is in talks with the Indian Space Research Organisation to place its scientific instruments on the Indian spacecraft that will be sent on an unmanned mission to the moon in 2007, ISRO officials said in Bangalore on Saturday.

"We have also got interest from NASA to place their payload in our moon mission," ISRO Satellite Centre Director P S Goel said.

Indian plans to put a 525 kg orbiter using its Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, 100 km over the moon.

ISRO had allotted 10 kg and 10 watt of power for space agencies of other nations and had invited bids, which evoked 15 responses from 10 nations including from NASA, Germany, Bulgaria, Britain and Sweden, he said.

Goel said the US space agency was very keen to provide mini-synthetic aperture radar and spectometre with 0.3 micron to 0.9 micron capabilities.

"We have begun discussions with them, but its implementation will depend on the bilateral agreements between India and US," he said.

ISRO had invited presentation on projects from five nations -- US, UK, Germany, Bulgaria and Sweden -- for final approvals in December 2004 at the lunar conference in Udaipur.

Goel said ISRO had selected the Bulgarian payload of radiation monitoring equipment in the spacecraft and two more payloads from European nations.

over the last two years I have contacted the dell online support a handful of times.
1. all but one such contacts were Indian.
2. ALL were highly competent.
3. ALL problems were resolved on the first go-around, including add-on software problems.

As a consumer, I don't see where I have room to complain, or any cause.

John Edwards is currently unemployed so he can take the case.

Friend, unless you're a lot wealthier than me, I have some unpleasant (albeit speculative) news for you. Edwards has probably made more money (swindling, suing, stealing, paying himself dividends, whatever) since the election than both of us will EARN in 10 years.

"They(indians) may speak English but it is bloody impossible to understand what they are saying."

India is a very diverse nation and every region has its own language.Though they speak english too(part of syllabus)but with their traditional accent.

Most of the BPO centres in india are located in Bangalore which is in South india. Those people have a very heavy accent(tamil, kannad etc)hence r really difficult to understand.I live in Mumbai(india) and i too find it difficult to understand what they speak. The others having a heavy accent are the Bengalis.Otherwise the rest of us are quite normal(though we dont have an accent like urs)and easy to understand.

So its the US companies that r to blame and not the indians.

I heard he was going into business with Joe Biden. They're going to name the new business "Original Productions, Inc."

Exactly.

Imagine for a moment a room full of (let's say, white or hispanic Americans) in a room in Silicon Valley, fielding questions from Delhi or Agra in fluent Hindi...and then somebody somewhere complaining that they could not always be understand fully due to heavy American accents!)

India, the World's Largest Democracy, is more interested in space development than is any other country, especially the USA. While NASA dominates space science, the average American could care less. If someone actually begins space development, it will probably be India or
China.

The borg is born.

Man, you beat me to it.

So let me see, will Picard have to travel back in time to 2005 and blow up the Indian rocket to prevent to Borg from assimilating the human race 500 years later?

Hey, Berman; there's your next story line.

Bully for India! I'm glad to see emerging nations like India flex their technological muscles. I only wish that we had better relations with them. We're natural allies and have the same long-term enemy (as long as China remains communist, that is).

They do look very much like Chinese designs:

However America can keep few secrets from India anymore. They now have tremendous access to American intellectual property, engineering schools, libraries, corporate data bases, medical records, customer lists, you name it. And they now have billions of US dollars.
