A guy who works for a distillery over there told me that after 15 years it dos not do anything more for the stuff. That I dont know about but what I do know is some of that stuff is vile tasting. Then some of the better stuff is as smooth as can be.

I had some 18 year old Glenfiddich which was so very smooth........

The 18 yo Glenfiddich is superb.

But I normally stick to the Dalwhinnie. IMHO, the best scotch I've ever tasted.

Depends on what area it is from. The water is the key. Some of the highland malts taste so much like peat that I cant hack them. But some people love drinking the "golden tea" made from peaty water.

I pretty much stay away from all of it now as I got to watch it.

BTW...NEVER go over there and order whiskey and water or anything mixed. That is an abomination to them. If you wanna water it down, they generally have a pitcher at the end of the bar with ice water in it. They'll tell you to ruin your own drink..at least some of them will.
