I read this book where the aliens thought they were coming to conquer 11th Century earth technology, but actually landed in the middle of WWII, which wasn't so cool for them. I think we are pretty darned dangerous.

Of curse there are a few reported incidents of UFO's above US missile silos and batteries.
And the missiles just shut off. Period. Totally inert.

We may be, but there's no way of knowing. The bottom line is not to presume anything about the aliens, if they exist, but to be prepared. Denial doesn't help.

Harry Turtledove's Worldwar series. A real fun read.
