Ibogaine was the subject of a CSI episode.

A drug-rehab-counselor/ibogaine-advocate cured some drug-dealer's "strawberry" of her addiction, and was offed for his trouble.

I just watched that episode last night (thanks, Tivo!). It was written by Jerry Stahl, who wrote "Permanent Midnight" about his own heroin addiction. In the book, he talks about taking some drug (don't think it was ibogaine) that basically left him without the cravings for heroin. He immediately went back onto the drug. The problem--and he has a character say pretty much the same thing in the episode--is that you have to WANT to get off of drugs, and you have to UNDERSTAND what it is in your own personality that made you an addict in the first place. Without those, any "miracle cure" is pretty much a waste of time.
