When 11-year-old Louise Jarvis leaves for school each morning, she has two mothers to kiss goodbye. And just to make matters a little more complicated, both women used to be men.
Louise's principal mother is Sarah, 33, who thanks to her previous existence as a factory worker called Brian, is in fact her natural father.
Her second mother is Kate West, a 43-year-old truck driver, who used to be a beer-drinking pub pool-player called Lee. 'We love our daughter as any parents would '
They have all been living together since Sarah and Kate completed sexchange operations within three months of each other in 2002.
Louise's natural mother Hayley Davidson, 31, split from Brian when her daughter was three, leaving him to bring her up as a single father.
Brian, now Sarah, said: "I know it's an unusual situation. But we love our daughter as any conventional parents would and we wouldn't change our setup for the world." Brian met Lee in a gay club in 1999, and they started a relationship after discovering they both cross-dressed and longed to be women.
They initially lived as male partners in Claydon, near Banbury, Oxfordshire, but both began hormone replacement treatment five years ago, in the buildup to their final operations in 2002.
According to Sarah, Louise was fully involved in the whole process, even accompanying her cross- dressing father to gender-counselling sessions.
The first big change after the surgery was complete was that Louise had to start calling her father "Mum".
'We don't care what anyone else thinks'
Sarah said: "At first, I felt terrible. I didn't want to take the title from her real Mum, but it would be weird for her to carry on calling me Dad.
"Sometimes we get sniggered at but we ignore it. A family is what you make it.
"The most important thing is that Louise is happy - and she is. We don't care what anyone else thinks."
Kate, 43, said she got on famously with Louise from the moment they met - when he was still a man.
"Sarah introduced me to her daughter and we hit it off straight away," she said.
"I read her Harry Potter books and helped Sarah iron her clothes for school."
In practice, Sarah takes on more of a motherly role, doing the cooking, while Kate has the more male role, carrying out any necessary DIY.
It's a mixed up world and a shook up world said Lola!

Despite the fact that this is the 2nd gay themed thread I have posted today, there's no pattern, it's pure coincidence!
It gets harder and harder for me to justify the saving of western civilization when stuff like this is allowed to go on.
So does that mean that they are lesbians now?
Where is this girl's natural mother and how horrible is she that the perv got custody?
I perfectly understand why Muslims would hate them.
