Third Party sent this to me from a CBS employee.

As far as the question of reporting is concerned, the bottom line is that much of the September 8th broadcast was wrong, incomplete or unfair.LOL. They needed a report to tell them that.
BTW, CBS, where's the retraction?

CBS news has a decades long history of promoting liberalism.

Yes, public apology is not enough. How about a story on how the story got on TV? How about an entire 60 Minutes on the corruption/bias/arrogance evident at CBS to allow that to happen.

Thanks for posting.
It seems Dan Rathers hand slapping was well justified now that we fully understand the "pressures" of working he was under during that time.
People we've been unfair.
/sarcasm off.

"Most troubling, however, are the Panel's findings regarding Mapes' ongoing contention, later proven to be false, that the documents used in the story were authenticated and had been obtained from a "rock-solid" source who had established, in retrospect, a questionable chain of custody for them."
So much for Dan's solid source.

CBS blames the "urge to be first." No political bias was found.

Wonder what they would have done with him if Rather hadn't retired.

We deeply regret the disservice this flawed 60 Minutes Wednesday report did to the American public, which has a right to count on CBS News for fairness and accuracy in all it does. This is bascially a non-denial denial. How Nixonian of CBS...

We are also gratified that the Panel, after extensive analysis and consideration, has found that, while CBS News made numerous errors of judgment and execution in this story, these mistakes were not motivated by any political agenda. As the Report states, "The Panel does not find a basis to accuse those who investigated, produced, vetted or aired the Segment of having a political bias." Unadulterated BS. Shame on Dick Thornburgh.

Probably temporarily killed with the Slashdot Effect, due to the CBS release.

CBS blames the "urge to be first." No political bias was found. And they weren't looking for any, either.

Dan Rather is the biggest posterior in the world if he spouts off one more silly down home-isms in front of a camera ever again. The fact that four staffers got fired for this should be cause for an honorable man to take the slings and arrows. Rather's face is a direct slap at those fired employees and the dim-witted public who watches him.

Good, that wench of a woman Mapes is gone, but of course, Rather gets a pass.
